How to decoupage a pumpkin? Need instructions, pls! Thx.?

First, I would not use a real pumpkin-it will rot. They sell artificial “craft” pumpkins at places like Michael's and A.C. Moore, I would use one of those, so the work is not wasted.

While you're at the craft store, pick up a few sponge brushes, fine grit sand paper, and some acrylic medium (ModPodge is a good brand, and designed just for decoupage). You can choose matte or gloss medium, it's up to you.

Lightly sand the Artificial pumpkin. Remove the dust by rinsing (then let it dry completely) or by using the dusting attachment on your vacuum.

Select the papers/images you want to use in your design. Remember that small pieces of thin paper will work better on the curved pumpkin. Carefully brush some acrylic medium on the sanded pumpkin, cover an area slightly larger than your first image. carefully smooth the image onto the still-wet medium. Cover with more medium. Brush carefully and in one direction to avoid bubbles in the medium.

Repeat until pumpkin is covered, or your design is complete.

Let the acrylic dry completely (at least 4 hours, over night is best. I would add an extra layer of acrylic, but that's optional.
